About me
I am an Economics major at the University of Washington with a strong interest in applied microeconomics, environmental and urban economics, and data-driven research. My recent work includes research on high-speed rail and regional development, FEMA flood map changes and property valuation, and AI-assisted research workflows. I enjoy helping students understand economic intuition, graphs, equations, and empirical reasoning step by step. I can tutor in both English and Chinese.
Teaching style
My teaching style is structured, patient, and example-based. I usually begin by identifying where the student is confused, then break the concept into intuition, graph or equation, and practice problems. For economics courses, I focus on helping students connect models to real-world examples, understand diagrams clearly, and prepare for exams efficiently. I also encourage students to explain the logic back in their own words so they can build long-term understanding rather than memorizing answers.
Strengths
My strengths include explaining complex concepts clearly, connecting economic theory with real-world examples, and helping students organize problem-solving steps. I am especially comfortable with introductory and intermediate economics, graphs, optimization logic, quantitative reasoning, research writing, and data-related questions. I am also bilingual in English and Chinese, which helps me support students who may need explanations in either language.
